About the Department 

The Department of Chest & TB was established in 1989. Our globally experienced and trained team of pulmonary physicians manages a range of acute and chronic lung conditions here. 

We have 2 units in our outpatient facility, and a total of 60 inpatient beds. We are supported by our state-of-the-art Sleep Lab, Pulmonary Function Lab (with diffusion capacity), and Interventional Pulmonology suite. Our services cover Video Bronchoscopy, Video Thoracoscopy, and Endobronchial Ultra-Sonography (EBUS). These facilities are available on all working days.

In addition to clinical services, we also offer undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The Department supports seven para-clinical courses like B.Sc Respiratory Care Technology & M.Sc Respiratory Therapy courses. Furthermore, we offer PFT Technician training in collaboration with the Indian Chest Society. 2010 was the year that MCI recognized us as a postgraduate department. The same year, we introduced our M.D. Respiratory Medicine course.

Our teaching methods include lectures, seminars, and bedside clinics. We incorporate emerging technologies to provide a blended learning experience. We also conduct training in our Skills Lab – this includes hands-on training in intubation and acute airway management.
